Ashish Metkar hails from the remote tribal region of Khongada, Chikhaldara, Maharashtra. Armed with Bachelor and Master’s degrees in social work, he brings a wealth of experience in the social sector to his role as the founder of Development Organization of Rural (DOOR). 

Driven by a passion for social justice and community empowerment, Ashish has dedicated his career to uplifting the tribal people of Melghat. His unwavering commitment to their welfare encompasses initiatives in education, healthcare, empowerment, and environmental sustainability.

Vaishnavi Deshmukh

Founder Vice-President

Vaishnavi Deshmukh, the Founder Vice President of the Development Organization of Rural, is a passionate advocate for women’s rights and gender equality. Living in Khongda, a rural tribal area in Melghat, she holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and a Master’s in Development Studies. Vaishnavi is dedicated to empowering women, raising awareness about gender equality, and working directly on education and rural development initiatives. Her commitment to these causes is central to the organization’s mission.


Prashant Athole

Founder Secretary

Prashant hails from the remote tribal area of Gangarkheda in Melghat, Maharashtra. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Arts (Literature) & Education and a master’s degree in English. Throughout his journey, he has been a staunch advocate for education, consistently motivating students in his surrounding community to pursue learning and assisting them along the way. He is deeply passionate about inspiring youth to engage in community welfare programs and is always prepared to exert efforts for the well-being of marginalized individuals in his vicinity


Atul Mamankar

Atul Mamankar, the committed Founder Joint Secretary of the Development Organization of Rural, is a passionate advocate for community welfare, especially focused on supporting small help groups in the Melghat region. Hailing from Chichkheda, a tribal area within Melghat, Atul has a deep connection to the local communities and their unique challenges.

Karan Kodape, a dedicated advocate for human rights, is the visionary founder and treasurer of the Development Organization of Rural. He holds a B.A., L.L.B., and LLM, equipping him with a robust legal background that fuels his passion for justice and equity. Hailing from the small village of Bahadarpur in Melghat, Karan is deeply rooted in the challenges and aspirations of rural communities.

However, his heart remains rooted in his Melghat, where he tirelessly endeavors to shine a spotlight on the pressing issues facing Melghat.

With a solid foundation of a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Social Work, coupled with a Postgraduate Diploma in Gandhi Research, Roshan embodies a fusion of academic rigor and practical wisdom. Renowned for his enthusiasm for fieldwork and a penchant for pioneering new ideas, Roshan stands as a beacon of innovation and compassion on our board, propelling our organization towards impactful change.
